Who this is for

This is the one to buy if you have never owned a dildo and do not want to guess. About 5.25 inches goes in and 4.75 inches goes around, which is modest on both counts. The shaft is lightly veined rather than sculpted, the base sticks to a wall or a tile, and there is nothing to charge or learn. If you already know you prefer more length, start at the other end of this collection instead.

Common questions

Real questions, answered by the team that tested it.

General
What does the "5 inch" in the name actually refer to?
The most likely answer is the insertable length, but we want to be straight with you: no source states it outright.

NS Novelties publishes no linear dimensions for this product at all — not total length, not insertable length, not width. What they publish is a model number, a barcode and a weight of 290 g. The only insertable figure that exists anywhere is 5 1/4 inches, from the distributor catalogue record for the identical 5 inch in black, and "5 inch" tracking a 5.25 inch insertable length is the reading that fits.

We have left total length blank on this page. Our own listing used to say 7 inches; we could not find a source for it, so it is coming off.
General
How big is it, exactly?
About 5.25 inches (13.3 cm) insertable, about 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) across at the widest point, and about 4.75 inches around the shaft at its thickest. It weighs 290 g, which is the one figure NS Novelties publishes themselves.

We have flagged the width and circumference as lower-confidence on purpose. They come from a distributor catalogue record rather than from NS Novelties, and the two figures corroborate each other arithmetically but not independently. The 290 g weight and the model number are the only manufacturer-sourced facts in that list.
Usage
Is this a good first dildo?
Yes — it is the one we would point a first-time buyer at, and NS Novelties' own copy opens the same way: "Whether you're a beginner or just have a size preference."

At roughly 5.25 inches insertable and 4.75 inches around, it is the smallest thing in this collection on both measures. There is nothing to charge, nothing to pair, and no settings to learn. The suction base means you can use it hands-free against a wall or a floor if that is easier than holding it. If you find you want more length later, the Lollicock 7 inch is linked on this page as the step up.
Usage
What lubricant should I use with it?
Water-based only. Silicone lubricant degrades silicone toys — the surface turns tacky and never recovers.

Worth knowing: NS Novelties publishes no lubricant guidance for this product anywhere, not on the product page and not in their FAQ. This is our guidance, based on the material rather than on anything the manufacturer said. Sliquid H2O and Pjur Aqua are both water-based and both safe with it. The Pjur silicone lubricant in our range is not.
Usage
Can it go in the dishwasher?
No — and if you read that here before, that was our mistake and we have taken it down.

NS Novelties publishes no cleaning instructions for this product at all: no dishwasher statement, no boiling guidance, nothing. The dishwasher claim traces back to marketplace listings where product attributes are auto-generated rather than written by the manufacturer, and we should not have repeated it.

Hand-wash it with warm water and a mild, unscented soap after every use, rinse it until it stops feeling slippery, and let it air-dry. That is enough for non-porous silicone.
Usage
Is it waterproof?
There are no electronics in it, so water will not hurt it, and you can use it in the shower or the bath.

What we will not do is print a waterproof rating. NS Novelties makes no waterproof claim about this product. The word appears in marketplace attribute lists — the same auto-generated lists that describe unrelated toys as Bluetooth and heated — and it used to appear on this page and in our tags because of that. It is coming off. "No electronics to damage" is the accurate version, and it is also the more useful one.
Body-Safe
What does NS Novelties actually say about the silicone?
Two things, and they are vaguer than you might expect: "Superior-Grade Silicone" in their feature list, and "top-tier silicone" in their description. That is the whole of the manufacturer's material claim.

What NS Novelties does not state, anywhere we could find: phthalate-free, non-porous, latex-free, body-safe, or medical grade. Every one of those harder claims enters the supply chain below the manufacturer — at distributor and marketplace level — and we are not going to present them as NS Novelties' words when they are not.

That is also why the phthalate-free and non-porous badges are switched off on this product while they are on for some others in our range. It is not an oversight and it is not a downgrade of this product. It reflects what its manufacturer has and has not put in writing. Solid silicone does not absorb fluids; hand-wash it and use water-based lubricant and you are on solid ground.
Warranty
Is there a warranty?
Nothing product-specific. NS Novelties' FAQ page refers generally to a one-year manufacturer warranty and directs customers to contact manufacturers directly, but there are no warranty terms published for this item, so we have left the warranty field on this page blank rather than writing in a duration we cannot cite.

Our own 30-day Pleasure Promise applies: a store-credit exchange within 30 days, returned by mail at no cost to you. Anything that arrives damaged or defective, come to us.

How to use, clean, and store

The first-5-minutes card in your box has the short version. This is the extended guide.

  1. 1. Wash it before the first use and every use after.
  2. 2. Press the suction cup onto a clean, dry, flat surface — tile and glass hold best.
  3. 3. In a harness, this one takes a standard O-ring: there are no balls in the way.
  4. 4. Use a water-based lubricant, more than feels necessary. Never silicone lubricant.
  5. 5. Warm it in your hands first; 290 g of silicone starts out cool.
  6. 6. Go slowly. At this size there is no need to rush anything.
  7. 7. Rinse it while you are still in the bathroom, not tomorrow morning.
Important: Water-based lubricant only — silicone lubricant degrades silicone toys. And despite what some listings for this product say, do not run it through the dishwasher: NS Novelties has never published a dishwasher or boiling instruction for it.
  1. 1. Hand-wash with warm water and a mild, unscented soap after every use.
  2. 2. Work around the veins and into the base of the suction cup, where residue collects.
  3. 3. Rinse until it stops feeling slippery.
  4. 4. Do not put it in the dishwasher. You may have read that you can — NS Novelties publishes no cleaning guidance at all, and no dishwasher claim exists anywhere we could find, so we are retracting it rather than repeating it.
  5. 5. Skip antibacterial and scented soaps; they leave films on silicone.
  6. 6. Pat dry with a lint-free cloth and let it finish air-drying.
  1. 1. Dry it completely first — moisture trapped in the suction cup is the usual culprit.
  2. 2. Keep it in its own bag or its own corner of a drawer.
  3. 3. Do not let it rest against other silicone toys; they can mark each other.
  4. 4. Silicone is a lint magnet. A cotton bag beats a bare drawer.
  5. 5. Store it standing or lying flat, not with the suction cup pressed down.
  1. Warm it in your hands — solid silicone starts out cold
  2. Wet the suction cup slightly and it grips much better
  3. Water-based lube only, and be generous with it
  4. There is no wrong pace here. Slower is the whole point
  5. Wash it right away rather than leaving it until later

The 5-Inch Firm Silicone Dildo with Suction Base in Pink – NS Novelties story

Why we made it this way.

The Colours Pleasures is NS Novelties' plainest good idea: a small, solid, single-density silicone dildo in a flat colour, with a suction cup and no features to speak of. It has been in their catalogue for over a decade in six colours and five sizes, which tells you something about how well the shape works.

The smallest insertable length we stock at 5.25 in, with a suction base and no learning curve.

What is actually published about it is thinner than you would expect. NS Novelties gives the pink five-inch a model number, NSN-0405-14, a barcode, and a weight of 290 grams — and that is the end of their specification. They publish no total length, no insertable length, no diameter, no circumference, and no care instructions of any kind. The figures on this page for insertable length, width and circumference come from the distributor catalogue record for the identical five-inch in black, and we have marked them as the medium- and low-confidence values they are rather than dressing them up.

We have also taken three claims off this page that were on it before. It was described as hypoallergenic, as dishwasher safe, and as waterproof. NS Novelties makes none of those three claims. All three trace back to marketplace listings where product attributes are auto-generated — the same lists that describe unrelated toys as furry and Bluetooth. Removing them costs us three nice-sounding bullets and buys you a page you can trust.

What NS Novelties does say is that the material is superior-grade silicone, that the suction base has powerful sticking capabilities, and that it is harness compatible. What they do not say — and this matters if you are shopping on material safety — is phthalate-free, non-porous, latex-free or medical grade. Those words are all downstream additions. We are leaving those badges off this product until NS Novelties states them or we test a unit ourselves.

It is the entry point of this collection: the smallest thing we sell in the category, and the one to pick if you would rather start under-sized than over.

Pleasure With Purpose

Every purchase helps women impacted by sexual exploitation.

Pleasure With Purpose is our promise that pleasure should never come at anyone's expense. Launched in 2026 — our very first year in business — it directs 5% of every purchase to Canadian charities that support women impacted by sexual exploitation. We chose to start on day one, rather than "once we could afford it," because a brand built on consensual pleasure owes something to the women the wider industry has harmed. Every year we'll publish the numbers, the recipients, and the receipts.
