Kegel trainers & weights

Kegel balls and trainers are exercise accessories — equipment for pelvic-floor exercise routines, the way hand weights are equipment for arm day. This collection covers both ends of the spectrum: Je Joue's Ami, a three-step silicone kegel ball set that progresses in size and weight as your routine does, and Perifit's app-connected trainer, which turns sessions into guided games using a biofeedback sensor. Everything here is body-safe silicone, designed for use in kegel exercise routines. One honest note: if you have pelvic-floor concerns, a pelvic-floor physiotherapist is the right person to ask before buying anything. Every order ships Canada-wide in plain, discreet packaging.

How to choose

The things that actually matter when you're choosing — plain language, no spec-sheet jargon.

What these are — and aren't. These are exercise accessories: equipment for pelvic-floor exercise routines, the way hand weights are equipment for arm day. They are not medical devices, and buying one isn't a substitute for professional advice. If you're working through pelvic-floor concerns, see a pelvic-floor physiotherapist first — they can tell you whether and how a trainer fits your situation.

"Kegel balls," "ben wa balls," "kegel weights" — same shelf, different names. You'll see all three terms online. They describe the same category: small weighted balls or trainers worn internally, so the muscles you're exercising have something to work against — resistance, in gym terms. "Ben wa balls" is the older name; "kegel trainers" is what the category has grown into, now that app-connected options exist alongside simple weights.

Weighted set or app trainer — the one real decision. The Je Joue Ami set is simple and screen-free: three progressive steps that change in size and weight as your routine does, no batteries, nothing to pair, nothing to update. The Perifit is the opposite philosophy: a biofeedback sensor connects to a phone app that turns each session into guided games, so you can see effort on screen instead of guessing. Neither is better — one is a set of dumbbells, the other is a gym class with an instructor. Choose based on how you actually like to exercise, because the one you'll use consistently is the right one.

How a session works. Short and structured beats long and vague. Follow the included guide or the app: sessions are typically minutes, not hours, and wearing a trainer for extended periods isn't the goal and isn't recommended. Position matters too — many routines start lying down, where the muscles work against less gravity, before progressing. Breathe normally; holding your breath while squeezing is the most common form mistake in any exercise, this one included.

Material and design. Everything here is body-safe silicone with a retrieval cord. Non-porous silicone is the standard worth insisting on for anything worn internally — it doesn't absorb fluids, and it cleans up completely. Both the Ami and the Perifit meet it.

Making it comfortable. A little water-based lubricant makes insertion comfortable — skip silicone lube, which reacts with silicone surfaces. Comfort is information: nothing here should hurt, and if something does, stop and check in with a professional rather than pushing through. That rule has no exceptions.

Cleaning and care. Wash with warm water and mild unscented soap before and after every session, dry completely, and store in a breathable pouch away from other silicone products. The Perifit's sensor end shouldn't be submerged — clean it as its manual directs.

Who should talk to a professional first. If you're pregnant or recently postpartum, recovering from surgery, experiencing pain, or noticing symptoms that concern you — a pelvic-floor physiotherapist is the right first stop, before any purchase. They exist exactly for this, many Canadian clinics take self-referrals, and a single assessment beats a hundred internet opinions, including ours.

A note on expectations. Like any exercise equipment, these support a routine — they don't do the exercise for you, and consistency matters more than the gear. We'd rather tell you that before you buy than have you learn it after.

Questions, answered

The questions we get most often — answered straight, with real numbers where they help.

General

What are kegel balls?

Kegel balls are small weighted balls, usually silicone-coated and joined by a flexible cord, worn internally as an accessory during kegel exercise routines. Sets like Je Joue's Ami come in progressive sizes and weights so the accessory can change as your routine does. They're exercise equipment, not medical devices.

General

Are kegel balls the same as ben wa balls?

Essentially, yes. Ben wa balls is the older name for small weighted balls worn internally; kegel balls are the modern version — body-safe silicone, connected shapes, and a retrieval cord, designed for use in kegel exercise routines. If you've seen either term, they refer to the same family of products.

Usage

How do you use kegel balls?

Insert the ball with a little water-based lubricant, leaving the retrieval cord outside, then follow the routine in your product's included guide — typically short sessions rather than all-day wear. Start with the largest, lightest ball in a set, and clean with mild soap and warm water afterwards.

General

Should I choose weighted balls or an app-connected trainer?

Weighted sets like the Ami are simple and screen-free: three progressive steps, no batteries. App-connected trainers like the Perifit use a biofeedback sensor and phone games to give you real-time feedback during each session. If you like guided workouts, choose the app; if you want simplicity, choose the weights.

Usage

Can kegel balls get stuck?

No — the vaginal canal is a closed space, so a kegel ball has nowhere to go, and every product here has a retrieval cord. If one feels reluctant to come out, relax, change position (squatting helps), and bear down gently while pulling the cord slowly.

Usage

Can I use kegel trainers during pregnancy or after giving birth?

That's a question for your healthcare provider or a pelvic-floor physiotherapist rather than a shop — timing and suitability vary a great deal from person to person. Check in with them first, and bring the specific product along so they can advise on it directly.

Yes. Every order ships Canada-wide in a plain, unbranded box — no logo, no brand name, and no description of the contents anywhere on the outside. Your bank or credit card statement shows the charge as SP RP Chhokra Inc., so "Red Pleasures" never appears there either.
