Who this is for

For anyone who wants to find out whether air-pulse works for them before spending two hundred dollars. Four independent reviewers name the Starlet 3 as the place to start. Not for anyone who wants a long session on one charge, because it runs thirty minutes, and not for anyone who needs a quiet toy.

Starlet 3 has an ABS plastic body with a silicone stimulation head and a Li-ion rechargeable battery, rated IPX7. Use water-based lubricant only with the silicone head. This is not a medical device. Stop using it if you feel discomfort, and do not share it between people without cleaning it thoroughly first.

Common questions

Real questions, answered by the team that tested it.

General
Is the Starlet 3 a good first air-pulse toy?
It is the one four independent reviewers name as the place to start, and at $109.95 it is the least expensive model in the Womanizer range. You get the same Pleasure Air technology as the larger models, in a 117 mm palm-sized body. What you give up is runtime and top-end intensity.
Battery
How long does the battery last?
About 30 minutes of runtime from a 30-minute charge. That is the shortest runtime in the Womanizer range and the fastest charge — so charge it before you want it rather than after.
Usage
Is the Starlet 3 waterproof?
It is rated IPX7, which means fully submersible, so bath and shower use are fine. One caveat we will state plainly: Womanizer's own site was unreachable throughout our research on this model, so the IPX7 rating here comes from retailers and reviewers rather than directly from the manufacturer.
General
How many intensity levels does it have?
Six. They sit somewhere in the middle of the larger models' scale — so the Starlet 3 has no real top end compared with the Classic 2's ten levels or the Premium 2's fourteen. There is also no step-down control on this model, so move up one level at a time.
General
What do I get by paying up to the Classic 2?
Four more intensity levels (ten against six) with a genuine top end, six times the runtime (180 minutes against 30), the Afterglow one-press step-down, a second stimulation head, and a silicone-over-metal build in place of the Starlet 3's ABS shell. The Starlet 3 is where most people start; the Classic 2 is where most people end up.
General
Is it quiet?
Audible, not silent. Reviewers describe it as noisy next to the pricier Womanizers, and the two third-party measurements we found disagree — 44 to 46 dB in one retailer's bench test, around 50 dB in a French review. Womanizer publishes no figure, so we do not quote one as a spec.
Body-Safe
What is the Starlet 3 made of?
Retailer listings describe an ABS plastic body with a silicone stimulation head, over a Li-ion rechargeable battery. Womanizer publishes no material statement we could reach, so we do not claim phthalate-free, BPA-free or non-porous status. Use water-based lubricant only with the silicone head.
Shipping
Will it arrive in discreet packaging?
Yes. Red Pleasures holds and ships every unit from Ottawa in plain packaging. Because it ships domestically there are no customs forms and no border delays, and returns are free by mail within 30 days.

How to use, clean, and store

The first-5-minutes card in your box has the short version. This is the extended guide.

  1. 1. Charge fully before first use — about 30 minutes on the magnetic contacts.
  2. 2. Apply a small amount of water-based lubricant to the rim of the stimulation head.
  3. 3. Seal the head over the clitoris. Air-pulse works through a closed seal, not through pressure — this is the part that takes practice.
  4. 4. Press the button to start, then press again to step up through the six intensity levels.
  5. 5. There is no step-down control on this model, so move up one level at a time.
  6. 6. Hold the button to switch off.
  7. 7. Expect about thirty minutes of use per charge, so charge it before you want it rather than after.
  8. 8. Silicone lubricant will ruin the silicone head. Water-based only.
Important: Never boil this product and never put it in a dishwasher — it holds a Li-ion battery and the electronics will fail. Use water-based lubricant only: silicone lubricant bonds to the silicone stimulation head and permanently ruins it. Only one head comes in the box.
  1. 1. Switch off and disconnect from the charger before cleaning.
  2. 2. Pull the stimulation head off the body.
  3. 3. Wash the head and the body in warm water with a mild soap or a gentle toy cleaner.
  4. 4. The IPX7 rating means the unit can be fully submerged, so rinsing under running water is safe.
  5. 5. Pay attention to the inside rim of the head, where lubricant collects.
  6. 6. Dry both parts completely before clipping the head back on.
  7. 7. Do not boil and do not put it in a dishwasher.
  1. Store it clean and completely dry, out of direct sunlight and away from heat. No case or travel lid is listed in the box contents we could find, so a drawer or a pouch of your own is worth using — the stimulation head is the part that collects lint. Do not store the silicone head resting against other silicone products, because different silicone grades can bond over time. Top up the charge every few months if you are not using it regularly; a Li-ion cell left flat for long stretches degrades faster.
  1. Seal the head over the clitoris — air-pulse needs a closed seal, not pressure
  2. Expect to hunt for the right spot. Almost every first-timer does
  3. A little water-based lube on the rim of the head improves the seal
  4. Move up one level at a time — there is no step-down on this model
  5. You get about thirty minutes per charge, so charge it beforehand

The Womanizer Starlet 3 Pleasure Air Clitoral Stimulator — Turquoise story

Why we made it this way.

The Starlet 3 is the model Womanizer built to get you in the door, and the reviewers who cover this category agree that is exactly what it is for. Noorindah Iskandar at Shy & Curious called it perfect for anyone new to the line. Charlie at Luxe Vibes wrote that several of her friends started with a Starlet 3 and moved all the way up to the Premium 2.

The least expensive way into Womanizer's Pleasure Air — six levels in a 117 mm body.

What you get is the real Pleasure Air engine in a 117 mm body, with six intensity levels and one stimulation head. What you give up is specific, and worth knowing before you buy. Six levels against the Classic 2's ten and the Premium 2's fourteen — and as Ella Scandal at Luxury Vibrators puts it, those six sit somewhere in the middle of the larger models' scale, so you get neither the gentlest floor nor the strongest top end. One head instead of two, so there is no second size to fit your own anatomy. An ABS plastic body rather than the softer finish on the pricier models. A single button with no step-down. And thirty minutes of runtime, the shortest in the range, which is the thing Amy at Coffee & Kink named as her biggest issue with it.

That review is worth reading before you buy. Amy tested the Starlet 3 and concluded she could not recommend it. Hers is the only outright negative verdict we found, against four sources recommending it as a starting point, but we would rather you saw it than didn't.

We are also going to be plain about what we could not verify. Womanizer's own site was unreachable throughout our research on this model, so unlike the Classic 2, the Premium 2 and the Liberty 2 — where we worked from Womanizer's own manuals — every figure here comes from retailers and reviewers. Five separate retailers state IPX7 and none contradict it, which is why we list it, but we have not seen Womanizer say it. We publish no weight, because three sources give three different numbers. We publish no model number, because the only candidate we found looks like a distributor's internal code built from the barcode.

It is the least expensive way to find out whether air-pulse is for you. If the answer turns out to be yes, the Classic 2 is the next step up: four more intensity levels, a second stimulation head, and six times the runtime.

Pleasure With Purpose

Every purchase helps women impacted by sexual exploitation.

Pleasure With Purpose is our promise that pleasure should never come at anyone's expense. Launched in 2026 — our very first year in business — it directs 5% of every purchase to Canadian charities that support women impacted by sexual exploitation. We chose to start on day one, rather than "once we could afford it," because a brand built on consensual pleasure owes something to the women the wider industry has harmed. Every year we'll publish the numbers, the recipients, and the receipts.
