The Helix Syn V is built on a rigid thermoplastic core coated in medical-grade silicone, so every surface that meets the body is smooth. It won't hold residue between sessions, and it washes down completely with mild soap and lukewarm water. The materials contain no PVC or phthalate softeners. Use a water-based lubricant only — silicone lubricant will degrade the silicone surface.
How to use, clean, and store
The first-5-minutes card in your box has the short version. This is the extended guide.
- Shower or bathe first and give yourself unhurried, private time. Many people find a warm shower beforehand helps them relax, which matters more than technique here.
- Lay a towel down and get comfortable. Lying on your side with one knee drawn up toward your waist is the position Aneros recommend for a first session; on your back works too, with the pelvis tilted slightly upward.
- Apply a generous amount of water-based lubricant to the head and stem. Never silicone-based — it will damage the silicone surface.
- Massage the outside of the anus gently with the head, making shallow entries to relax the muscle and carry lubricant inside. Don't force anything.
- Keep applying light, steady pressure and let it become self-inserting — your body draws in the rest. The angled head should tilt up toward your navel, with the perineum tab resting flush behind the scrotum.
- Lie still for several minutes before doing anything. This settling-in period is part of the process.
- Start unpowered. Squeeze the muscle you'd use to stop urinating, then release. The massager pivots on the contraction and returns on the release, so you set the pace and pressure entirely. Experiment with short pulses and longer holds.
- When you're ready to add vibration, double-click the button to power on. Single clicks step through the eight patterns; press and hold for two seconds to change intensity between low, medium and high.
- Keep your hands off it. It is designed to be driven by your contractions alone — pulling or thrusting works against the shape.
- Start with two or three sessions a week of up to about 30 minutes. Re-apply lubricant during longer sessions. Double-click to power off, then remove slowly and gently.
- Wash before and after every single session.
- Use a mild, non-abrasive soap with lukewarm water, or a silicone-compatible toy cleaner.
- Work around the head, the stem and both tabs with your fingers or a soft cloth, paying attention to the join between the silicone and the tabs.
- Rinse thoroughly under running water. It's rated IPX7, so rinsing and short immersion are fine — keep it under 30 minutes and shallower than a metre, and never leave it soaking.
- Never boil it, and never put it in a dishwasher or steriliser. Heat will deform it and voids the warranty.
- Avoid any cleaner containing alcohol, acetone or petroleum-based solvents.
- Pat dry with a lint-free cloth, then let it air-dry completely before storing or charging.
- Make sure it's completely dry before it goes away — especially around the magnetic charging contacts.
- Store somewhere clean, dry and out of direct sunlight. Prolonged sun and high heat will damage both the silicone and the battery.
- Keep it away from radiators, hot cars and anywhere it gets left damp.
- A soft pouch or its own box keeps dust and lint off the silicone surface.
- Store it apart from other silicone toys so surfaces aren't pressed together for long periods.
- Top the charge up every few months if it's going unused for a while — a lithium battery kept flat for long stretches ages faster.
