Who this is for

For anyone curious about air-pulse who would rather not spend a hundred dollars finding out whether they like it. Buyers who are happy with this one tend to be happy on the lowest setting. If you already know you want strong suction, the reviews say plainly that this is not the toy, and a Womanizer is the better spend.

Common questions

Real questions, answered by the team that tested it.

Usage
Is the plusOne Air Pulsing Arouser waterproof?
plusOne describes it as fully waterproof and safe for use in the bath or shower, and that is the brand's own wording. But plusOne publishes no IP rating anywhere we could reach, so we do not describe it as submersible and we would not leave it soaking. Rinse it, dry it, and keep water off the magnetic charging contacts.
General
How many intensity levels does it have?
Retailer listings disagree — some say four, some say five — and plusOne publishes no specification we could reach, so count them yourself the first time. Press and hold the power button for about three seconds to switch it on, then press again to step up.
Battery
How long does the battery last?
Up to three hours of runtime from one charge, per plusOne. The brand publishes no charge time we can verify, so allow a couple of hours the first time. It charges with the magnetic cable in the box.
Usage
Why does it feel weak?
Weak suction is the most common complaint across the 43 buyer reviews we read — and a poor seal is the usual reason. Air-pulse works through a closed seal, not through pressure. Change your grip and your angle before you change the setting, and use a little water-based lubricant on the rim of the mouth. Buyers who are happy with this toy tend to stay on the lowest setting.
Body-Safe
What is it made of?
Retailer listings describe body-safe silicone, but plusOne publishes no silicone grade, no phthalate-free statement, no non-porous statement and no certification of any kind, and we could not reach a manufacturer product page or manual for this model anywhere. So we make no body-safety claim beyond the brand's own wording. Use water-based lubricant only with silicone.
General
How does it compare with the Womanizers in this collection?
It is about a quarter of the price of the Premium 2 and roughly half the Starlet 3. What you give up is the published specification: the Womanizers have manufacturer manuals with an IPX7 rating and stated runtimes, and this one has none of that. Buy it to find out whether air-pulse works for you without spending a hundred dollars on the question.
Warranty
What warranty and returns does it come with?
plusOne publishes no warranty terms we could apply to Canada — the only two-year figure we found belongs to an Indian importer, not to plusOne. Red Pleasures ships it from Ottawa in plain packaging with a 30-day free return by mail if it is not right for you.

How to use, clean, and store

The first-5-minutes card in your box has the short version. This is the extended guide.

  1. 1. Charge it before first use with the magnetic cable in the box. plusOne does not publish a charge time we can verify, so allow a couple of hours.
  2. 2. Apply a small amount of water-based lubricant to the rim of the mouth.
  3. 3. Press and hold the power button for about three seconds to switch it on.
  4. 4. Seal the mouth over the clitoris. Air-pulse works through a closed seal, not through pressure.
  5. 5. Start on the lowest setting. Across the buyer reviews we read, that is the setting most people who like this toy stay on.
  6. 6. Press the button again to step up through the intensity levels. Retailer listings disagree on whether there are four or five, so count them yourself the first time.
  7. 7. If it feels weak, change your grip and your angle before you change the setting. A poor seal is the most common cause.
  8. 8. Silicone lubricant will ruin the silicone. Water-based only.
Important: Never boil this product and never put it in a dishwasher — it holds a lithium-ion battery. Use water-based lubricant only: silicone lubricant bonds to silicone and permanently ruins it. plusOne publishes no IP rating, so do not leave it soaking in water.
  1. 1. Switch off and disconnect from the charger before cleaning.
  2. 2. Wash with warm water and a mild soap or a gentle toy cleaner — this is plusOne's own instruction.
  3. 3. Pay attention to the inside of the mouth, where lubricant collects.
  4. 4. plusOne publishes no IP rating, so treat it as waterproof for bath and shower use but do not leave it soaking.
  5. 5. Keep water away from the magnetic charging contacts and dry them before charging.
  6. 6. Dry it completely with a lint-free cloth before storing.
  7. 7. Do not boil it and do not put it in a dishwasher — it holds a lithium-ion battery.
  1. Store it clean and completely dry, out of direct sunlight and away from heat. Do not count on a storage pouch: retailer listings disagree on whether one is included, and at least one buyer says theirs arrived without. Keep the silicone away from other silicone products, because different grades can bond over time, and away from anything that sheds lint. Top up the charge every few months if you are not using it regularly, because a lithium-ion cell left flat for long stretches degrades faster.
  1. Press and hold the power button for about three seconds to switch it on
  2. Seal it over the clitoris. Air-pulse needs a closed seal, not pressure
  3. Start on the lowest setting — that is where most happy buyers stayed
  4. If it feels weak, change your grip before you change the setting
  5. It has a low-battery indicator, so you get some warning before it dies

The plusOne Air Pulsing Arouser — Waterproof Clitoral Stimulator story

Why we made it this way.

This is the least expensive way to find out whether air-pulse is for you, and everything else on this page follows from that.

One button. No app, no pairing, no screen — the least expensive air-pulse toy on this site.

plusOne is a Massachusetts brand that put reasonably-made toys on drugstore shelves. Inverse covered the brand in 2021 under a headline about the surprisingly decent sex toys you can buy at your local drugstore, which is a fair summary of the whole proposition. At $58.50 the Arouser costs about a quarter of the Womanizer Premium 2 and roughly half the Starlet 3. One button, no app, no screen, nothing to pair.

What buyers actually say. The review base is small — nine reviews at Best Buy, thirty-four at Influenster, forty-three in total — so read it as a signal rather than a verdict. The praise is consistent on one point: the people who like this toy like it on the lowest setting. One Best Buy reviewer wrote that even the lowest setting was 10/10. Another wrote that it is exceptional for the price.

The criticism is just as consistent and points the other way. The most common complaint is that the suction is not strong enough. One one-star Best Buy reviewer wrote that it is nothing special and not strong enough to do anything for her. An Influenster reviewer tied it to the shape, writing that the air suction could be stronger and that there is a learning curve in finding the best way to grasp the best suction. Those are the same complaint twice. Air-pulse only works through a closed seal, and this body is awkward to hold at the right angle.

What we do not know, and will not pretend to. We could not reach a plusOne product page or manual for this model anywhere. That means no published dimensions, no weight, no decibel figure, no silicone grade, no phthalate-free statement and no warranty terms that apply in Canada. Retailer listings disagree on whether it has four intensity settings or five, and on whether a full charge takes eighty minutes or two hours, so we publish neither figure. The brand says fully waterproof, safe for the bath or shower, and never once publishes an IP rating — so we do not call it submersible, and no one else should either.

One practical note. Best Buy, which used to carry this model, now lists it as no longer available in new condition. Buy it as the inexpensive experiment it is rather than as a long-term purchase.

Pleasure With Purpose

Every purchase helps women impacted by sexual exploitation.

Pleasure With Purpose is our promise that pleasure should never come at anyone's expense. Launched in 2026 — our very first year in business — it directs 5% of every purchase to Canadian charities that support women impacted by sexual exploitation. We chose to start on day one, rather than "once we could afford it," because a brand built on consensual pleasure owes something to the women the wider industry has harmed. Every year we'll publish the numbers, the recipients, and the receipts.
