How to choose

The things that actually matter when you're choosing — plain language, no spec-sheet jargon.

There is no schedule you are behind on. Dilators work by repetition at a size that does not hurt, not by pushing through discomfort. The goal at every stage is for the current size to become boring. If that takes weeks, it takes weeks — moving up early is the most reliable way to go backwards.

Pick your starting size honestly. Start with the largest dilator that inserts without pain. People routinely overestimate here and then conclude the process is not working. Smaller is not failure, it is just the actual starting point.

Lubricant, warmth, and time. Use water-based lubricant generously — our sets are silicone, so silicone lubricant would damage them. A warm bath beforehand helps some people. Insert slowly, then simply rest with it in place; the work is in staying relaxed, not in movement.

Breathe out on insertion. Pelvic floor muscles tighten with a held breath and release on a slow exhale. This one detail changes the experience for a lot of people more than any equipment choice does.
