Comfort & Care · Pelvic wands

Pelvic wands

A pelvic wand is a curved silicone or plastic tool used to reach tender points in the pelvic floor that fingers cannot comfortably get to. It is held, not worn, and used with steady pressure rather than movement — most people use one as part of a routine a pelvic floor physiotherapist has given them.

We stock body-safe wands with honest specifications and plain-language instructions, because the instructions are usually the part that is missing. This is a self-care tool, not a diagnosis: if you have pelvic pain you have not had assessed, see a pelvic floor physiotherapist first. Ships from Ottawa in plain packaging.

How to choose

The things that actually matter when you're choosing — plain language, no spec-sheet jargon.

Get assessed before you self-treat. A pelvic wand applies real pressure to specific muscles, and knowing which ones and how hard is genuinely a clinical question. If you have pelvic pain nobody has assessed, see a pelvic floor physiotherapist first. If you already have a routine from one, this is the tool for it.

Curved for a reason. The bend is what lets you reach the muscles along the pelvic wall without twisting your wrist or forcing an angle. A straight tool cannot get there comfortably, which is the entire design brief.

Pressure, not movement. The technique is to find a tender point, hold steady gentle pressure for roughly thirty to sixty seconds, and let it release. It is not massage and it is not thrusting. What you are looking for is a deep ache that eases as you hold — sharp pain means back off.

Lubricant is not optional. Use water-based generously, on the wand and on yourself. Most reports of a wand feeling harsh come down to not enough lubricant rather than the wand itself.

Materials and cleaning. Body-safe silicone and medical-grade plastic, both non-porous. Wash with warm water and mild unscented soap before and after every use, and let it dry fully before storing.

Questions, answered

The questions we get most often — answered straight, with real numbers where they help.

General

What is a pelvic wand?

A curved, rigid tool used to apply steady pressure to tight or tender points in the pelvic floor — areas that are difficult to reach comfortably with fingers. The curve is what lets you reach them without straining your wrist.

General

Should I see a physiotherapist before using one?

If you have pelvic pain that has not been assessed, yes. A pelvic floor physiotherapist can tell you which points to work on and how much pressure is appropriate, which is the part a product page genuinely cannot answer for you.

Usage

How do you use one?

With plenty of lubricant, slowly, and with sustained gentle pressure rather than movement — usually held on a tender point for somewhere around thirty to sixty seconds. It should feel like a deep ache that eases, never sharp pain.

Body-Safe

What are they made of?

The wands we stock are body-safe silicone or medical-grade plastic: non-porous, phthalate-free, and easy to clean thoroughly.

Usage

Do I need lubricant?

Yes, and generously. Water-based lubricant is the right choice for silicone wands. Insufficient lubrication is the most common reason a wand feels uncomfortable when it should not.

Shipping

Is shipping discreet?

Yes. Every order ships Canada-wide in a plain, unbranded box — no logo, no brand name, and no description of the contents anywhere on the outside. Your bank or credit card statement shows the charge as SP RP Chhokra Inc., so "Red Pleasures" never appears there either.
