The Lovense Sex Machine and the Lovense Spinel both thrust for you, but they are built for very different homes. The Sex Machine is a full-size, plug-in, double-sided machine that two people can use at once. The Spinel is a 590 g rechargeable toy you can hold, mount or put in a drawer. This guide compares them, plus the lower-priced Lovense Gravity, so you can pick the right size of thrusting toy.

1. Lovense Spinel App-Controlled Thrusting Dildo ($264.89 CAD)
The Spinel packs the idea of a sex machine into a 590 g rechargeable unit. You choose what goes on top: a straight silicone dildo that thrusts, vibrates and heats to 39.5–42.9°C, or a curved G-spot dildo that thrusts only. A silicone clitoral base can be added as well.
You can hold it, use the handle, or press the suction-cup stand onto smooth tile, glass or laminate and tilt it up to 150°. Lovense lists 395 to 1,450 thrusts a minute, with the top speed in Turbo Mode on the straight dildo. A charge lasts up to 257 minutes.
The trade-off is speed. There is no truly slow setting, so the lowest level still feels fast. Lovense also says the Spinel is for vaginal use only.
Best for: people who already like quick, intense thrusting and want a toy that fits in a drawer.
2. Lovense Sex Machine – App-Controlled Thrusting Machine ($1,627.95 CAD)
The Sex Machine is the full-size option. A rod runs out of each end of the frame, so two people can use it at the same time. It reaches up to 300 strokes per minute, and the stroke length goes up to 4.5 inches. Height and angle adjust too.
It comes with two silicone dildos and two adapters, and it fits any Vac-U-Lock dildo. You run it from a wired control box or the Lovense Remote app, including over long distance. It is mains-powered, so there is no battery to charge.
It is big. Fully set up, it is over 1 metre long and weighs over 11 kg. The stroke length is set by hand under the front cover, not in the app, and the rails need greasing every two to three months. Our product records list it as a toy for experienced users.
Best for: couples and experienced users who want full-size power at home.
3. Lovense Gravity App-Controlled Thrusting Dildo ($190.89 CAD)
The Gravity is a rechargeable silicone shaft on a base, with a screw-on suction cup for hands-free play on smooth surfaces. The shaft moves up to 140 strokes a minute over a 3 cm (1.18 in) stroke, and the tip vibrates on its own. You can adjust thrust and vibration separately, from the app or two buttons on the base.
It has 5.12 inches (13 cm) of insertable length, weighs 386 g and runs up to 4 hours per charge.
Two downsides stand out. A hands-on reviewer called it very noisy, and Lovense publishes no noise figure. The shaft is stiff and straight, so not every position works. It is IPX6, so never submerge it.
Best for: trying hands-free thrusting on a smaller budget.

Is the Lovense Sex Machine worth the price?
It is worth it if you have the space and want full-size, two-person thrusting. Nothing else in this guide is double-sided. The Gravity's stroke is 3 cm, and Lovense publishes no stroke length for the Spinel.
The machine also takes any Vac-U-Lock dildo, so you can change attachments over time. At 61 dB at full speed, our product notes compare it to normal conversation.
It is not worth it if you are new to thrusting toys, short on storage or want something you can carry. At $1,627.95 CAD, it costs about six times as much as the Spinel. Its folded storage bag measures about 54 × 42 × 19 cm, so plan a spot for it first.
Should you buy the Lovense Spinel or a full machine?
Buy the Lovense Spinel if portability and price matter more than stroke length. It weighs 590 g, runs on a battery and mounts on a shower wall or a table. It also adds a heated head, which the full machine does not have.
Buy the full machine if you want long, deep strokes, a sturdy frame and the option for two people. The Spinel lists no stroke length, so we cannot compare depth directly.
Lovense rates the Spinel's lowest setting at 48 dB, and one hands-on reviewer found it quiet for a thrusting toy. That matters in shared homes.
Which should you buy?
You want something portable: the Spinel. It is rechargeable, mounts almost anywhere smooth and is the fastest of the three.
You want full-size power for two: the Sex Machine. It is the only double-sided pick here.
You want the lowest-priced pick: the Gravity, at $190.89 CAD.
You want heat: the Spinel, with its heated straight dildo.
You want to use your own dildos: the Sex Machine, which fits any Vac-U-Lock attachment.
You want slow, gentle movement: skip the Spinel, because its lowest setting is still fast. Start any of the others on their lowest speed.
How do you choose a thrusting toy?
Start with space and power. A plug-in machine needs a stable spot and a wall outlet, while a rechargeable toy can live in a drawer. You can compare every model in our Lovense collection.
Speed and stroke: strokes per minute tells you how fast it moves. Stroke length tells you how far it moves each time.
Mounting: a suction cup needs a clean, smooth surface such as tile or glass. Lovense warns against painted walls for the Spinel's stand.
Noise: check the noise level if you share walls. The Sex Machine is rated at 61 dB at full speed, and the Spinel at 48 dB on its lowest setting.
Water: the Spinel and the Gravity are IPX6, which means splashes only. Neither should be soaked, and the Sex Machine should stay dry.
How do you start with a thrusting toy?
Start slowly, with plenty of water-based lube. Our product notes for the Sex Machine and the Spinel both say to begin at the lowest setting and build up.
For the Sex Machine, set the stroke length, angle and height before you switch it on. Assemble or adjust it only while it is unplugged, on a stable, flat surface.
For the Spinel, our product notes suggest starting with the curved G-spot head, thrust only, on the lowest level. For the Gravity, press the suction cup onto a clean, dry, smooth surface and give it a tug to check the grip before you begin.
Are Lovense thrusting toys body-safe?
Yes, based on what Lovense states. The Spinel's attachments are 100% pure body-safe silicone, the Gravity's shaft is body-safe silicone, and the Sex Machine ships with silicone dildos. Lovense says none of its products contain phthalates.
Planned Parenthood says that for toys inserted into the body, "it's best to use one made of a body-safe, non-porous material." Its sex toy guide also says, "Don't use silicone lube with silicone sex toys (unless you put condoms on them)." So use a water-based lube with all three.
The same guide advises washing toys "with mild soap and water after you use them." It also notes that sharing toys can spread STDs, and that condoms on toys can help. If you share a toy, put a condom on it.
The Spinel is not meant for anal play; Lovense limits it to vaginal use. Planned Parenthood says any toy used for anal play needs a flared base, so it cannot slip all the way in.
How we chose these picks
We compared the Lovense thrusting toys we had in stock on the day this guide was published. Every spec comes from our product records, and prices and stock were checked against our store that day. The Lovense Mini Sex Machine was sold out when we checked, so it is not included.
We ranked the picks by who they suit, not by price. For more Lovense options, see our Lovense Canada guide.
FAQ
What is the difference between the Lovense Sex Machine and the Spinel?
The Sex Machine is a full-size, mains-powered, double-sided machine with a stroke of up to 4.5 inches. The Spinel is a 590 g rechargeable toy with swappable heads, heat and very fast thrusting. The Sex Machine costs $1,627.95 CAD and the Spinel $264.89 CAD.
Can two people use the Lovense Sex Machine at once?
Yes. It is double-sided, with a thrusting rod at each end, so a couple can share it. It comes with two silicone dildos and two adapters, and each end takes any Vac-U-Lock dildo.
How loud is the Sex Machine?
It is rated at 61 dB at full speed, which our product notes compare to normal conversation. Lovense rates the Spinel at 48 dB on its lowest setting. Lovense publishes no noise figure for the Gravity, and a hands-on reviewer called it very noisy.
Can you use the Lovense Spinel in the shower?
Yes, with the silicone seal fitted. The Spinel is rated IPX6, so it handles splashes but should never be soaked or boiled. The suction-cup stand works on smooth tile or glass, not painted walls.
Can the Lovense Spinel be used for anal play?
No. Lovense's instructions limit the Spinel to vaginal use. Planned Parenthood advises that any toy used for anal play has a flared base, so it cannot slip all the way in.

Use a water-based lube. Planned Parenthood advises against silicone lube on silicone toys, and the care notes for all three toys say water-based only.
